Madness singer Suggs has had his autobiographical stage show, My Life Story, turned into a film musical directed by Julien Temple.
Suggs, real name Graham McPherson, has been performing his stage show since 2012. The death of his beloved cat on his fiftieth birthday triggers a personal quest to discover what happened to the father he never knew. Stunned by what he learns, Suggs is taken back through his life to a childhood on the streets of Soho featuring music written by The Kinks, Prince Buster, Ian Drury and, of course, his beloved Madness. Incorporating speech, stand-up and excerpts of songs by Madness and their contemporaries, it tells the story of Suggs struggling to find meaning in life as he enters his 50s.
After the film, an exclusive Musical Q & A, hosted by Keith Allen with Julien Temple, Suggs and pianist Deano will be beamed live via satellite from London’s Koko Club.
