Monty Python Competition

Calling all Python fans!

The raconteurs over at PictureHouse are running a competition to run alongside Monty Python Live (Mostly) – We thought some of you creative people might be interested in giving it a shot:

Were you first in line for LIFE OF BRIAN? Know the Lumberjack Song by heart? Ever paid for an argument?

If so, get your coconuts ready. We’re looking for the best interpretation of a classic Python sketch to include in our international broadcast of Monty Python Live (mostly) to cinemas. Yes, you will have the chance for your sketch to be seen in more than 1,800 cinemas around the globe.

Entry is simple:

  1. Film your interpretation of a classic sketch (no longer than 60 seconds) and upload it to YouTube.

  2. Send the link to your uploaded sketch to competitions@picturehouses.co.uk with ‘Python Video’ in the subject line, along with your full name, city/town and country.

Important:

We cannot accept entries that include any pre-recorded music. Entries must not include any original Monty Python material, including clips from any Monty Python films, Monty Python’s Flying Circus, Monty Python music or any other copyrighted material.

Videos any longer than 60 seconds in length will be instantly disqualified.

We will require original hi-res video files for the shortlisted films, so please keep these to hand until after the winners are announced on Friday 11 July.

Video files must be available in HD, in either QuickTime, .mov or mp4 format.

The deadline for submissions is Wednesday 9 July. Entries are subject to Picturehouse Entertainment’s Terms and Conditions.
